Harry could just see the outline of something
huge and curved, lying right across the tunnel. It wasn't moving. "Maybe
it's asleep," he breathed, glancing back at the other two. Lockhart's
hands were pressed over his eyes. Harry turned back to look at the thing, his
heart beating so fast it hurt. Very slowly, his eyes as narrow as he could make
them and still see, Harry edged forward, his wand held high. The light slid
over a gigantic snake skin, of a vivid, poisonous green, lying curled and empty
across the tunnel floor. The creature that had shed it must have been twenty
feet long at least.

Description: I spun my first Basilisk Skin art yarn years ago, and as with the Valentine yarn was excited to revisit the scene and spin another version. I chose a beautiful merino / silk blend I had dyed myself in a hard to describe colourway between olive green and brownish/greenish yellow, spun it and plied it with bright yellow thread to achieve a more poisonous looking shade, and turned many parts of it into coils.
Fibre Types: merino / tussah silk
Colours: hand dyed, hard to describe colourway between olive green and brownish yellow
Add-Ins: sewing thread, and lots of coils
